A new solar PV plant near Searchlight, Nevada called Searchlight Solar I will be a 20MW (DC) solar PV plant, selling power to NV Energy under a power purchase agreement (PPA). American Capital Energy will construct and manage the plant. It is unknown what type of panels, or where near Searchlight the plant will be located. It is expected to be operational by mid-2010. It is not the largest solar PV plant planned however, the 58MW (total) El Dorado plant by Sempra will be the largest PV plant, contingent on Sempra getting a PPA on their second phase (48MW) of the plant.
